Harold Smith (Smitty) Conrad
Harold Smith (Smitty) Conrad, 76, of Chillicothe, Mo., passed away at his home on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010 under the care of his family and Hedrick Care Hospice.
He was born July 16, 1933 in Zionsville to Harold Theodore Conrad and Violante Smith Conrad. He graduated from Zionsville High School and attended Central Business College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955.
He married Marilyn D. Conrad on Aug. 7, 1955 in Lebanon. He worked for Christian Fidelity Insurance Co. as a salesman for 30 years. He was a member of Zionsville Christian Church, the Elks Lodge No. 656 in Chillicothe, Mo. and the American Legion Post No. 25 in Chillicothe, Mo. He enjoyed his family, golf, fishing and dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, two daughters, Valerie (David) Rough of Plattsmouth, Neb.; Vanessa (Shaun) Owens of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; two sons, Victor Conrad of Lee’s Summit, Mo; Vincent Conrad of Kansas City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Louardeth Frame.

There was a cremation and memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Heritage Funeral Home in Cillicothe, Mo. Visitation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation of St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington St., Chillicothe, Mo. 64601. Arrangements under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home of Chillicothe, Mo.
