1912-2008

Ruby L. Bentley, 96, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Bethel Manor. She was born Feb. 11, 1912, in Evansville.

She was a 1928 graduate of Central High School.

Ruby was a member of Bethel Temple.

She loved to travel and spend time in her garden. She was an excellent cook and had an extensive collection of recipes.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bentley, in 1976; and sister, Ruth Brazelton.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Thweatt (husband Gene) of Evansville and Sandra Pursel (husband Bill) of Carmel; sons, Ronald Bentley of Evansville and David Bentley (wife Rita) of Vienna, Va.; grandchildren, Colette Bergin, Lisa Schulte of Zionsville, Tara Darovec, Lynn Jost, Michael Bentley and Barbara Bailey; and 14 great- grandchildren.

Services were April 9, at Alexander East Chapel. The Rev. R. R. Schwambach officiated. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
