Wanda F. Schmutzler
1923-2008
Wanda Fay Schmutzler, 85 of Zionsville died peacefully Thursday, May 15, 2008. She was born to the late Earl and Ruby Schnarr Geisler in Portersville on Feb. 27, 1923.
She was married for 45years to Emil Schmutzler who was an Indiana state senator from 1967 to 1970.
She received her RN from Wellborn Hospital in Evansville and was a nurse at Winona Hospital. Wanda established Babes and Tots child care center in Indianapolis, and later worked at Noah’s Ark Preschool. Wanda is remembered as a caring and devoted mother with a remarkable sense of humor.
She is survived by her children Kurt, Mark, and Scott Schmutzler (wife Nancy) and Ann Schmutzler Miller (husband Don). She leaves behind grandchildren Katherine, Benjamin, Brian, Kyle, Jake, Adam, and Emily and great-grandson Sam. She will be greatly missed by her dear friends and sisters, Marilee Husselman (husband Tom) and Pat McLeod (husband Bob). Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Schmutzler, granddaughter Sarah Miller and sister, Betty Galloway.
