1910-2008
Mabel Estel Everett Shelburne, 97, of Thorntown, formerly of Zionsville, died May 21, 2008, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.
Mabel was born Sept. 2, 1910, in Hendricks County to the late John William and Iva Opal Jones Everett.
She was a 1929 graduate of Perry Central School. After high school, Mabel worked at Presto-Lite and Mallory’s in Indianapolis. She spent most of her life as a dedicated mother, grandmother and wife. Mabel was also a long time member of Zionsville United Methodist Church.
Mabel is survived by her son, Gerald Shelburne and his wife, Pamela, of Thorntown; her grandchildren, Cynthia Jean Worrell and her husband, Brian, of Lebanon, Angela Kathleen Klinedinst and her husband, Cory, of Lebanon, and William Douglas Shelburne and his wife, Rhea, of Frankfort. Mabel is also survived by her great grandchildren, Aurora, Sierra, Christian, Patrick, and Matthew Worrell; Dakota, Bayleigh, and Brenan Klinedinst. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Claude Byrkett Services were May 24 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center. The Rev. Byron Fritz officiated. Burial will followed at Hutton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Boone County Senior Services, 403 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, IN 46052 or charity of the donor’s choice.
