Barbara Stover
1920-2008
Barbara (Tuck) Stover passed away Sunday, Aug.17, 2008, after a brief Illness. Born Jan. 5, 1920, In Dayton, Ohio, she was a central Indiana resident for 60 years.
She was married to Richard Stover; he preceded her in death.
Barbara was a long-time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and other volunteer organizations. She loved gardening, genealogy, and just sitting and chatting with friends. Barbara and her mother, Lela Tuck, spearheaded a restructuring of the State of Indiana’s mental health system in the 50s and 60s.
Survivors include her son Richard (wife Jacqueline) and their children James, Rebecca Nyikes and Marybeth, and great-grandchild Amanda Nyikes.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy, and parents, Edward and Lela Tuck.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Zionsville Christian Church, 120 N. Ninth St. A luncheon at the church will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lupus Foundation of America, 2000 L Street NW, Suite 710, Washington, DC 20036. Mark checks “In memory of Barbara Stover.”
