Richard G. Krumwied, 80, of Zionsville, died Feb. 7, 2012.
Richard was born June 24, 1931, in Omaha, Neb., to George E. and Francis M. Boyschou Krumwied; they preceded him in death as did his beloved wife, Joyce “Jo” Krumwied.
Krumwied graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. He was a veteran of the United States Army Airborne, having faithfully served his country during the Korean War.
He enjoyed a long and successful 23-year career as the director of marketing for Indiana Gas. After retiring from Indiana Gas, he worked as a sales representative for Output Sales.
Krumwied was a member of St. Francis In-The-Fields Episcopal Church; he was a past president and leader of the Zionsville Lions Club; and he was an active member of the American Gas Association, having been honored with their annual prestigious American Gas Association Award.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Becky) D. Krumwied, Scott (Nancy) D. Krumwied and Julie Anne (Gordon) Ayres; grandchildren, Jeremy, Zachary, Nicholas, Adam, Erika, Andrew, Garrett, and Kara; and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday, Feb. 10, at St. Francis In-The- Fields Episcopal Church, in Zionsville. A celebration of his life faith was at 1 p.m., followed by a committal service with military honors at Zionsville Cemetery.
