Zionsville Times Sentinel
---- — Roger G. Lewis, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 24, 2013.
He will be remembered by his daughters as “D.D. King of the Dads,” which was a song he used to sing to them as children. This was just one of many examples of his willingness to act silly to make people laugh, especially children. He used his quick wit to make those around him feel happy and at ease. Roger was a hard worker and an avid bicyclist, and he was also a marathon runner when he was younger.
He is survived by his daughters, Ashley Lewis and Kelly (Jean) Bley; his parents, Richard and Priscilla Lewis; his brothers Mark (Kim) Lewis and James (Kathy) Lewis; his grandchildren, Hadrian Ward, Olivia Bley, Camille Bley and Nicole Bley; his girlfriend, Debby Cullen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Traders Point Christian Church, 6590 S. Indianapolis Rd., Whitestown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Roger’s honor to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan - Zionsville.
