Ray Stone peacefully left us on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at age 88.
He was deeply loved by all for his kindness, integrity and wry wit.
Stone graduated from Shortridge High School, University of Illinois, and received an M.S. in structural engineering from Purdue University. He proudly worked on the design of many schools and other buildings in Indiana as a partner in E.I. Brown and as an independent consultant.
He was a veteran of the Navy, having served at sea in the Korean War, and an active member of the Service Club of Indianapolis.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Rosalyn Crabb.
Stone is survived by his sister, Mary Senn; his four children: Jim, Jeff, Kathy (Tonetti) and Bob; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday, Oct. 7, at the Epworth United Methodist Church, 6450 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. A memorial service followed in the sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ray’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675; or www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
