Steven Harris

— Steven E. Harris, 68, passed away April 1, 2013.

The son of Lottie and Ewart Harris, both of whom preceded him in death, Steve was a graduate of Pike High School and attended Indiana University. He lived in Zionsville and, in 2007, he started spending the winters in Arizona.

He spent the majority of his life working in the automotive and trucking industry, and he was a founding member and former president of Transcorr Trucking LLC. He was also a member and past chairman of the Indiana Motor Truck Association. He had a true passion for cars, with a special place in his heart for Corvettes.

An avid golfer, sports and race fan, Steve also volunteered and served on the board for The Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville.

Steve had a daughter, Lisa, with his first wife, Donna. He had four children with his second wife, Betty: Mandi, Rebecca, Matthew (deceased) and Michael (deceased). He had four grandchildren who he bragged about and loved dearly since the day he met them: Olivia, Benjamin, Ashley and Xavier. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

A service to celebrate Steve’s life will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville.

The family has requested donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club or Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, Gilbert, Ariz.
