---- — Phyllis Lee Tuder, 82, of Whitestown, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon.

She was born in Boone County on March 18, 1932, the daughter of the Lowell and Beulah Pearl (Ottinger) Thistlethwaite. A lifelong resident of Boone County, Phyllis lived in the Big Springs, Gadsden, and Whitestown communities and attended school in Whitestown.

On June 25, 1949, she was married to Billie J. Tuder near Rosston. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1998.

Phyllis spent her life taking care of her home and her family. Prior to the birth of her son, Phyllis worked at Bel Mar Industries in Whitestown, and she helped her husband farm. He was the third generation of his family to farm the property east of Lebanon. They retired in 1997.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved every moment with her family, including years spent camping. Phyllis and her husband enjoyed collecting and showing antique tractors together.

Phyllis was a member of Northfield Community Church in Zionsville and was a Past Matron of Order of the Eastern Star No. 248 in Whitestown. She also belonged to the Order of Amaranth Court No. 12 in Lebanon and the Boone County Antique Tractor Club.

Survivors include two children, Pamela Kay Ehman and husband, Terry, and Dennis Jay Tuder and wife, Vicky, all of Whitestown; sister-in-law, Patricia Thistlethwaite of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Amy Marie Ward and husband, Dejay, and Douglas J. Tuder and fiancée, Amy Slaughter, all of Lebanon; one great-grandchild, Ethan Allen Ward; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Aaron Tyler Ward.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, James William Thistlethwaite.

Visitation is planned from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, at the funeral home, with Eastern Star Rites beginning at 7 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, with Pastor Dan Ferren officiating. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.
