Save me a place on the beach

---- — I don't know who struggles more when cold weather hits -- me or my car.

Seems like the older I get, the more my window of tolerance for cold weather closes. I used to love bundling up and playing in the snow when I was kid.

We'd go sledding at a nearby park when I was really young. There was a steep hill with a creek at the bottom, so you had to be pretty good at the controls or end up in the creek.

After we moved to the country, there was a steep hill in the pasture behind the house -- with a creek at the bottom. It was deja vu all over again.

I think we had every kind of sled: wooden flexible flier, metal saucer sled, plastic toboggan sled. My favorite was the good old-fashioned flexible flier because it was the easiest to steer. There was no control at all with the saucer sled.
