Smoldering artistic spark rekindled

---- — Exposure to the arts community in Zionsville has inspired me.

It's great having access to galleries and shops and artists and classes that were few and far between in the rural area where I was living. I enjoy seeing what innovative things people create, and it inspires me to try my hand at different arts and crafts.

My grandpa was an amateur artist who painted and carved. He got me a tabletop easel before I ever even started school; I still have it. I took art classes in high school and college, and most recently I've been making simple jewelry.

I don't consider myself at all gifted in any particular type of art, but I do enjoy dabbling and learning about them all. I've tried pencils, charcoal, pastels, acrylics, watercolors, oils, pottery, macrame, ceramics, jewelry, flower arranging ... you get the idea. So now that I have ready access to myriad classes and supplies, I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to broaden my horizons again.
