Zionsville — The Boone County Fraternal Order of Police annual Christmas with a Cop Program is under way.

This will mark the 15th year of the event that raised around $50,000 last year to help purchase winter clothing for approximately 575 needy children in the county.

Families nominated by local service groups will meet with police officers at the local Wal-Mart store for a morning of shopping on Saturday, Dec. 15.

Application packets for the program may be picked up at the Lebanon Police Department, 201 East Main Street, or the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, 1905 Indianapolis Avenue. Completed packets are due by 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. Call 765-482-8397 for more information.
