Maplelawn Farmstead recently received grants from three questers groups.
These gifts were the result of the efforts of two local Questers groups – the Mattsville Pike Questers, located in Zionsville, and the Conner’s Trail Questers, located in Carmel. These two chapters joined forces to apply for a $1,000 grant from the Indiana state Questers organization. An additional $900 was raised through a style show hosted by the two chapters. An additional $1,000 was a gift from the Mattsville Pike Questers, and the remaining $900 was donated by the Mattsville Pike Questers and the Conner’s Trail Questers from the proceeds of a style show of vintage fashions hosted by these two groups in September.
“These gifts were extremely generous, and are ones for which we are tremendously grateful,” Doyle said. “These gifts will allow us to finish the restoration of the dining room to our interpretive period of the 1930s Great Depression era, which will enable us to better tell the story of this notable time in our country’s history.”
Questers is an international not-for-profit organization of people who enjoy antiques and history to encourage an appreciation for antiques and the preservation and restoration of historical landmarks.
