Police reports for April 30

Staff report

At 12:52 p.m. Saturday, April 26, Christopher Simone of Zionsville reported a death on the 100 block of Kevin Drive. The police report states Carlos Lopez-Pulido, 36, was found dead at his residence and that death occurred between 9 p.m. April 25 and 12:55 p.m. April 26. ZPD Police Captain Rob Knox said Lopez-Pulido was found dead in the bathroom; an autopsy did not reveal a cause of death. The doors to the residence were locked from the inside and no foul play is suspected. The department is awaiting toxicology reports.

At 11:24 a.m. Thursday, April 24, The Movie Gallery reported a theft between 10:15 a.m. and 11:34 a.m. that day on the 1200 of West Oak Street.

At 9:57 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, Laurence Mitsch, 54, of Zionsville reported theft. The police report states a set of keys was stolen from the 11800 block of Promontory Trail between 9:45 p.m. April 22 and 7:30 a.m. April 23.

At 6:34 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, Douglas Robinson of Zionsville reported theft. The police report states numerous credit cards, a check book and professional camera equipment were stolen from the 700 block of West Oak Street between 10 p.m. April 22 and 3 a.m. April 23. The estimated loss is $5,000.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, Kim Antelo of Zionsville reported theft. The police report states a package with two Cubs tickets was taken from her front-door step in the 3000 block of Hearthstone Drive between April 16 and April 20. The estimated loss is $300.

At 1:45 p.m. Monday, April 21, William Bear of Zionsville reported criminal mischief. The police report states the front fender of his vehicle was keyed in the Boone Village parking lot between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. April 20.

In accident news, at 10:40 p.m. Friday, April 25, Courtney Folger Wise, 16, of Indianapolis was driving a black 2000 Jeep Cherokee, and Sacha Stikeleather, also16, of Carmel was driving a burgundy 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Folger Wise was driving behind Stikeleather on U.S. 421 just north of Valley Meadow Drive. While driving, they were speaking on cell phones to each other about a vehicle following closely behind Folger Wise. Stikeleather slowed to turn into a driveway on the 5000 block of U.S. 421. Folger Wise also slowed to turn into the driveway, but could not stop in time and struck the rear of Stikeleather’s vehicle sending it into an electronic keypad and brick fencepost. The estimated damage is $10,001 to $25,000. The homeowner is Ronald Artest.

At 1:36 p.m. Monday, April 21, Peter Dale, 67, of Zionsville was driving a silver 2007 Kawasaki Agility 12 scooter. The police report states he was in the Boone Village parking lot preparing to park when he accidentally hit the throttle instead of the brake, causing him to speed up and strike a parked, unoccupied 2008 Honda Accord owned by Lorna Hollingsworth of Sheridan. The estimated damage is $750 to $1,000.

At 12:15 p.m. Monday, April 21, David Opsal, 75, of Zionsville was driving a blue 2000 Ford Econoline E250, and Helen Wagoner, 81, of Zionsville was driving a red 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The police report states Wagoner pulled out of Temple Avenue onto Willow Road striking the left rear of Opsal’s car, which was traveling north on Willow Road. Wagoner states she did not see Opsal. The estimated damage is $5,001 to $10,000.

At 7:20 a.m. Friday, April 18, Courtney Bissell, 17, of Zionsville was driving a green 1998 Toyota CXL, and Angela Valentine, 42, of Zionsville was driving a blue 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. The police report states Bissell slowed to turn from Hal Sharpe Way into the Zionsville Community High School parking lot when Valentine struck the rear of her vehicle. The estimated damage is $2,501 to $5,000.
