Police reports for Sept. 10
At 3:02 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, Kent McCarthy of Zionsville reported burglary. Multiple items, including jewelry and two laptop computers were stolen from his house between 10 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. in the 2700 block of Daughtery Drive.
At 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, Johnnie Winstead of Key Bank in Zionsville reported fraud. A suspect has written checks to the bank that have come back defaulted by other banks in the total amount of $2,482.41. The fraud occurred between July 23 and Aug. 4.
At 5:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, Benjamin Watson of Zionsville reported theft. A 32-gallon trash can was stolen from the 8900 block of Winterberry Court between 3 a.m. Aug. 31 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 1. The estimated loss is $25.
At 6:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, multiple juveniles were arrested in Starkey Park for possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor.
At 11:47 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, Jesus Mujic of Indianapolis was arrested for theft and driving with a suspended license. Zionsville police made a traffic stop for speeding at County Road 975 East and Lakewood Drive, and discovered the 2007 Honda motorcycle was stolen out of New York and the driver’s license was suspended.
At 1:03 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, Roger Foster of Estridge Builders in Zionsville reported theft. A Carrier air conditioning unit was stolen in the 3500 block of Mossy Rock Drive between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28 and 11 a.m. Aug. 29. The estimated loss is $1,150.
In accident news, at 1:28 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, Amanda Pafford, 26, of Indianapolis was driving a gray 1997 Toyota Camry, and Gerald Smith, 65, of Zionsville was driving a blue 2001 Saab 93. The police report states Pafford was backing onto First Street from 300 West Ash Street. Smith was turning onto First Street, and tried to avoid contact with Pafford as she continued to back out. Pafford struck Smith in the passenger side rear quarter panel and bumper. Both vehicles sustained damage, estimated at $1,001 to $2,500.
At 12:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, Thomas Lang, 37, of Zionsville was driving a red 2006 Honda van. While turning into a parking space in the 140 block of Main Street, he struck the left front bumper of a parked car owned by Brian Neubert of West Lafayette. Total estimated damage is $1,001 to $2,500.
At 3:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, Karen Romano, 51, of Lebanon was driving a tan 1998 GMC Safari, and Anna Hall, 58, of Carmel was driving a black 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300. Romano was driving west on State Road 334, and Hall was driving east on SR 334. Hall attempted to turn north onto Ninth Street in front of Romano. Hall did not have enough time to make the turn and struck Romano head-on. The estimated total damage is $2,501 to $5,000.
At 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, James Reese, 59, of Zionsville was driving a blue 2003 Buick Century, and Charity Peter, 34, of Zionsville was driving a black 2005 Saturn SL. Reese was backing out of a parking space facing east in the 100 block of Kevin Drive, and Peter was driving north on Kevin Drive. Reese collided with Peter’s vehicle, sideswiping it on the right side. The estimated damage is $2,501 to $5,000.
