— Zionsville’s offense started out a bit shaky, but finished strong Friday, Sept. 14, at home against Westfield.
The Eagles defeated the Shamrocks 35-18 in a back-and-forth battle.
Zionsville went up on a 56-yard bomb from Parker Dunshee to Chris Mason with 6:25 remaining in the first quarter to make it 7-0.
But, the Shamrocks came right back on an 11-play drive to convert a field goal to make the score 7-3 with 2:50 left in the first quarter.
After the Eagles’ second turnover of the quarter, the Shamrocks quickly converted the Eagles’ mistake into seven points on a 35-yard touchdown pass from Nick Ferrer to Devin Reece with 33.9 seconds remaining in the first quarter to make it 10-7.
