---- — The Zionsville swimming and diving teams competed Saturday, Jan. 4 in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Meet.

The girls placed third overall with 346 team points, while the boys placed fourth with 239 points.

"I think we swam very well today," Zionsville head coach Scott Kubly said. "After Christmas training and winter training you never know how they are going to swim. But when it comes to the environment, you are at one of the best pools in the state, if not the country and you have to go out there and perform. If you can't get up and swim fast for this meet, we have issues. But we swam really well."

Only second-ranked Fishers (453 points) and sixth-ranked Hamilton Southeastern (402 points) topped the Lady Eagles (ranked fifth).

The Eagles defeated four other ranked teams.

Zionsville had the most event wins with five (one ahead of Fishers and three more than HSE), but didn't have the depth of the other teams.

"That is one of the questions we were talking about during the meet," Kubly said. "We have to figure out how we can arrange our lineup to get that depth there. That is going to be the challenge in the next month."
