The Zionsville boys golf team tested themselves right out of the gate April 12, facing off against a strong field in the Hall of Fame Tournament at Rock Hollow Golf Course.
The Eagles placed fifth in the tournament, shooting a team score of 333.
"We got off to a great start," Zionsville head coach Steve Simmons said. "We shot a 155 on our first nine and that was in the lead or tied for the lead. Clark Tiller was 1-under for his first nine, and Adam (Wood) had a 38 and Michael Sollman had a 39 so we had three scores in the 30s and the wind was hollowing so we were in a good spot. We went to the front-nine, which was our second nine and it was significantly harder and the winds picked up and we didn't handle it very well. I am not overly disappointed, but I would have liked to see us handle the conditions a little better."
Wood led the Eagles with a 77.
Tiller finished with an 81, Sollman shot an 86 and Eric Smitson shot an 89 to round out the scoring quartet for the Eagles.
