Zionsville Community High School’s Grant Sloan showed last week why he has the chance to be one of the top baseball prospects in the Class of 2015.
Sloan was one of just 115 players to participate in the 2013 Perfect Game Junior National Showcase in Minneapolis on June 11 and 12.
The showcase, held in the Metrodome, was attended by hundreds of college recruiters and professional scouts.
The showcase was used as a scouting evaluation and provided an opportunity to play against some of the other top prospects in the nation.
Perfect Game is baseball’s foremost scouting report service and holds numerous showcases, tournaments, online videos, national ranking, player profiles and scouting reports.
Players that have played in the Junior National Showcase include the Nationals’ Bryce Harper, the Rockies’ Nolan Arenado and the Orioles’ Dylan Bundy.
In 2012, 29 of the 31 first round picks in the MLB Draft had participated in a Perfect Game event.
Sloan posted a 4-2 record for Zionsville this season with a 1.54 ERA (second on the team) and a team-best 0.98 WHIP.
