There were no nerves for the Zionsville lacrosse seniors Wednesday night as they played their final scheduled regular season home game against Noblesville.
The Eagles dominated for four quarters on their way to an 8-2 victory.
“It is great (to get the win for the seniors),” Zionsville head coach Matt Garvey said. “Senior night is always kind of funky because there is a lot of emotions. We got a good win against a conference opponent. Right now we are sitting in first place in the conference with one game left. That is our first goal.”
Despite dominating the game from the opening face off, the Eagles didn’t get on the board until 2:16 remained in the first half, when Luke Beebe scored.
Less than two minutes later, Eric Regele scored to make it 2-0 at the end of a quarter.
Matt Welch made it 3-0 eight minutes into the second period, but the Millers scored 44 seconds later and trailed just 3-1 at halftime.
The Eagles took momentum right back in the beginning of the second half.
