The Zionsville boys track and field team kicked off its season Thursday, March 28 when it faced Brebeuf.
The Eagles narrowly lost to the 12th-ranked Braves 69-63.
“It was great to get a meet in before spring break with the difficult weather we have had,” Zionsville head coach Gabe Porras said in an email. “I was real proud of our athletes with the way they competed. We had a lot of new varsity athletes step up and perform well.”
The highlight of the night came in the pole vault, when Colton Manusky set the school record with a jump of 14 feet, 3 inches. He broke the 27-year old record of Craig Kouns — which was 14 feet.
