ZMS wins county title

Zionsville Middle School won the Boone County Tennis Tournament this past Saturday, Sept. 15. The tournament participants were Zionsville Middle School, Zionsville West Middle School, Lebanon, and Western Boone. Nick Weaver won the No. 2 singles bracket, going 3-0. R.J. Brow was also unbeaten in the No. 3 singles bracket. The No. 2 doubles team of Darren Stratton and Elijah Hunt won their bracket in going 3-0. The other winning teams were Eddie Lin at No. 1 singles and Nick and Conor Broderick at No. 1 doubles.

The No.3 doubles team of Mark Huibregste and Shane Shuler went undefeated as well. The three wins in the team matches moved the Eagles record to 9-2. Wood shot a 66 in the third and final round to overcome a four-shot deficit to get the victory by two shots over Nick Grubnich of Crown Point.
