Coming off a 13-5 loss to Carmel Saturday afternoon, the Zionsville boys lacrosse team was looking to move past the defeat when they faced Bishop Chatard Monday, April 15.
The Eagles did that in a big way, routing the Trojans 13-4.
“It was really good,” Zionsville head coach Matt Garvey said. “We came out strong. They went up early by one, but we got it back quickly and by halftime it was 10-3. That is what we were looking for coming off a loss to a very good Carmel team. We wanted to make sure things were right. The guys didn’t put their heads down or anything like that, they just put their heads down and ran through them. It was a really good job by our kids mentally.”
Garvey said that he was extremely happy with the way the team bounced back after the loss and said it boded well for the rest of the season.
“That is the type of kids we have,” Garvey said. “We have some really good leaders, and that is why I think this season is going to be a success for us.”
