Boys win, girls second at Zionsville Track Invite

The Zionsville track and field teams hosted their own invite on Friday, May 2.

The boys won the invite, scoring 107 points to beat Brownsburg by one. Westfield was third with 85.

The girls placed second, falling by one point to Westfield, 111-110. Brownsburg was third with 101 points.

Winning for the Eagles: The girls 3,200-meter relay team of Sydney Meyers, Samantha Mitchell, Marianna Kastberg-Leonard and Becca Uebele in a time of 9:35.29; Uebele in the 1,600-meter run (5:20.07); CJ Anyaebunam in the 400-meter dash (50.03); Meyers in the 800-meter run in a meet-record 2:19.45; Mitchell in the 3,200-meter run in a school-record time of 11:19.45; the girls 1,600-meter relay team of Meyers, Kastberg-Leonard, Uebele and Dariah Rice in 4:10.41; Alex Sibila in the high jump (6-0); and Griffen Conner in the long jump (21-07.5).

Placing second for Zionsville: Oliver Rigg in the 1,600-meter run (4:28.78); Rice in the 400-meter run (1:01.18); Joey Lupinski in the 300-meter hurdles (40.65); the boys 1,600-meter relay team of Lupinski, Conner, Jay Edwards and Anyaebunam in a time of 3:26.31; Emily Wilson in the high jump (5-0); and Carlie Vannatta in the discus (123-02). Placing third for Zionsville: the boys 3,200-meter relay team of Kyle Munz, Tucker Sorrells, Zach Stevens and Brian Rice in 8:20.07; Lupinski in the 110-meter hurdles (15.87); Ryan Cash in the 1,600-meter run (4:31.25); the boys 400-meter relay team of Taylor Allen, Mitch Miller, Josh Hinkle and Max Duque in 44.06; Anyaebunam in the 200-meter dash (22.70) and Beau LaJoie in the pole vault (13-0).

Placing fourth for Zionsville: Dariah Rice in the 100-meter dash (13.67); Rigg in the 800-meter run (1:59.06); Eva Stachler in the pole vault (7-06) and Emma Bleakman in the long jump (16-05.5).

Placing fifth for Zionsville: Hinkle in the 200-meter dash (23.28) and Kyle Sheehan in the pole vault (11-0).

Placing sixth for Zionsville: Cally Sampson in the 400-meter dash (1:02.68); Katie Brothers in the 3,200-meter run (12:22.68) and Vannatta in the shot put (34-04).
