---- — The third-ranked Zionsville Lady Eagles soccer team had no problems in their season opener Wednesday night, Aug. 21. The Eagles took a 1-0 lead mere minutes into the match on a goal by Katy Keen, then continued to score seemingly at will in a 13-0 rout of HCC foe Lafayette Jefferson. “They have been working really hard,” Zionsville assistant coach Mike Latos, who was filling in for Ramon Aguillon, said. “We have a really talented group and we put it all together in the way we expect them to. They put together a full 80 minutes and that was a good to see. Especially against a team that put forth a lot of effort.” The Eagles got their first goal less than five minutes into the match. Latos said it was key to jump on the board first. “It is always good to get one early,” he said. “It makes the team a little more relaxed and it is tough on the other team when you give up an early one. It was good to get a goal.” For more of this story, read Wednesday Aug. 28's Times Sentinel.
