— The Zionsville football team did not seem to mind playing a Saturday afternoon football game after the game was called before it ever started on Friday night due to lightning.
Zionsville trounced West Lafayette Harrison 55-14 Saturday afternoon, Sept. 22, in a game that was never close.
Zionsville coach Larry McWhorter said he could tell the team was ready for this game.
“I was really happy with the way we played today,” McWhorter said. “This was a game we could have taken lightly. But, it was apparent in practice this week that they weren’t taking (Harrison) lightly. They were very focused offensively and defensively. The game plans were executed well.”
The Eagles took control early as the Raiders fumbled the snap on their opening possession during a punt attempt giving the Eagles the ball at the Harrison 15-yard line.
