— Ben Kuller saved the Zionsville boys soccer team from having to answer questions about missed opportunities Saturday evening, Sept. 22.

After a plethora of chances by the Eagles’ forwards, the Eagles finally converted and beat Lake Forest 1-0 in the Zionsville Classic in the final game of the evening.

In the morning game, the Eagles also defeated Plainfield 2-0 (getting goals from Jonathan Wheeler and Cory Lains).

The goal came with only 14:55 remaining in the game after Lake Forest’s keeper kicked the ball directly to Kuller. Kuller proceeded to take the ball straight to and around the keeper putting the Eagles up for good 1-0.

Coach Rob Jordan said he was happy to see a goal go into the net.

“We had two breakaways and one open netter from a header from about a yard out, and we missed it,” Jordan said. “We’ve been kind of snake bit this year with finishing off goals and thankfully Ben got in the right spot, made a great move forward and put it in the back of the net. That’s what we put him up there for.”
