— Despite losing 5-0 to Zionsville earlier in the year, the Lebanon Tigers tennis team knew they could hang with the Eagles and the match was much closer than the final score.
They made sure everyone else knew it Friday afternoon, Sept. 28. The Tigers topped Zionsville 4-1 in the Lebanon Sectional semifinals, ending Zionsville’s seven year sectional title reign.
“We haven’t beaten Zionsville since 2003,” Lebanon head coach Brad Mustin said. “Our guys knew they had a fighting chance after we lost to them in the regular season. It led to a whole new mentality of the season leading to this match.”
