Lady Eagles win OT thriller

Last season, Heritage Christian girls lacrosse topped Zionsville twice in overtime, including in the regional.

The Eagles got a bit of revenge Thursday, April 11, in thrilling fashion. Zionsville’s Allee Moore scored with 10.5 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, and Jayme Brizzolara scored with 33.3 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to send the Eagles to a 15-14 win.

“I am extremely proud of them,” Zionsville head coach Missy Stringham said. “One of our key low defenders is out with a concussion, so that threw off our entire lineup. It made us switch everything, and several people had key roles where they were supposed to do anything and they did a great job of that. For (Jayme) to step up at the end and finish that — it was all her hard work. Erin (Kunkel) had a great game as well, as did sneaky Allee Moore, who I wish was 7 feet tall because she would get more looks. But as a team, the girls played their hearts out.”

Zionsville seemed to be in control of the game early, taking a 10-6 lead at halftime.
