---- — The Zionsville Lady Eagles saw their entire lead go away against Lafayette Jefferson late in the fourth quarter Wednesday, Dec. 4, night.

But with the momentum against them, the Eagles turned to one of their senior leaders -- and she delivered. Laurie King's three-point play with 1:16 remaining broke a 40-all tie and the Eagles made the plays they needed to down the stretch, beating the Bronchos 49-41.

"After they tied it up we ran a play really well," Zionsville head coach Andy Maguire said. "We ran a play for Laurie King and she made a big three-point play. That set the tone for the final minute. Down the stretch, our defense was really solid and we did a good job rebounding to put ourselves in a position to make free throws to win it."

Maddie Yott scored the first basket of the fourth quarter to give Zionsville a 39-33 lead with 7:17 left in the game.

Lafayette Jefferson went on a 7-1 run during the next 6:01, holding the Eagles to just a free throw from Kirsten Castelli.

The Bronchos tied the game with 1:27 left on a three-point play from Carlie Hinkel, only to see the Eagles reclaim the lead on the three-point play from King.

Zionsville then went 6-of-8 from the free-throw line down the stretch, holding the Bronchos to 0-of-4 shooting in the final minute.
