Eagles push winning streak to nine

---- — Even during Zionsville’s current nine-game winning streak coach Shaun Busick has been adamant that his team has yet to play a complete game.

Friday, Jan. 24, night at home against Fishers he felt his team moved closer to that elusive complete game as the Eagle led nearly from start to finish in a 58-45 Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory.

“We’re a little closer; I thought we played a lot better tonight,” Busick said. “We have to against good teams like Fishers. I think the big key for us was getting off to a good start. They weren’t able to hit some early threes and we were able to capitalize.”

Zionsville only trailed for a few seconds Friday night, as a 3-pointer from Jake Mann with 7:15 left in the first period gave the Eagles a very early 3-2 lead.

Mann added a second 3-pointer less than a minute later and Braden Hall converted an old-fashioned three-point play with a steal and score to put Zionsville in front 9-4 early on.

The Eagles (10-2, 4-2) expanded the lead to 13-4 and eventually 15-8 after one quarter before using their defense to seize control.
