  • Swimmers drop dual to HSE, get ready for sectional It hasn't been the easiest of Januarys for the Zionsville swimming and diving teams. The winter weather has played havoc with the Eagles schedule, but they were able to get a dual meet in with Hamilton Southeastern on Jan. 21.

Friday, Jan. 24, night at home against Fishers he felt his team moved closer to that elusive complete game as the Eagle led nearly from start to finish in a 58-45 Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory.

  • Wrestlers close regular season with win, prepare for sectional The Zionsville wrestling team closed the regular season out on a high note Jan. 23, defeating Southmont 45-23. The win ended the Eagles dual meet season with a record of 18-2.

Jan. 17, night at Harrison Zionsville coach Shaun Busick was very, very frustrated with his team. As he said, the Eagles played their best five minutes of the season and maybe their worst five minutes in the 52-40 victory.

  • SPT - ZT012214 - Wrestling photo 2 Wrestlers place second at HCC Tourney The Zionsville wrestling team didn't achieve their ultimate goal of winning the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Tournament, Saturday, January 18. But they still had an strong showing, earning second-place team honors. Avon won the title with 197.5 points, while Zionsville and Westfield tied for second with 132.5 points.

  • Lady Eagles ready to return after layoff If there was one team that didn't completely hate the winter weather last week affecting high school sports schedules in central Indiana, it may have been the Zionsville Lady Eagles. The Eagles were already scheduled to be off from Jan. 5-17, so now they don't have to scramble to make up games at the end of the season.

They were rebounding well, defending well, and creating turnovers, but they still trailed 30-20 with just under 4 minutes left in the third quarter.

  • SPT - ZT010814 - Girls basketball photo 1 Lady Eagles fall in tournament final Facing Class 3A No. 7 Benton Central in the championship game of the Zionsville Girls Holiday Tournament Monday, Dec. 30, the Eagles gave perhaps their best performance in several seasons. Even though the Bison went on to a 62-55 victory, Zionsville coach Any Maguire was very pleased at the level his team performed.
