Purdue Alumni

to meet

The Purdue Alumni Club of Boone County will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Brewhouse Sports Grille, 1576 W. Oak St. to watch the Purdue vs. Minnesota Big Ten basketball game. No reservations are needed; snacks and drinks of your choice may be purchased.

Sitter classes offered

The Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville will offer a Safe Sitter Class from 9 am to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 24 and Feb. 28. Children must be between 11 and 13 years old to attend. Sign up at the club on 1575 Mulberry St. Sign-up deadline is the Tuesday prior to each class. Cost is $55 per person and the limit is 10 persons per class. If there are fewer than six participants, the class will be canceled and individuals notified. Call 873-6670 with questions.

College counseling workshop on tap

James P. Fadely, Ph.D., an experienced prep school director of college counseling, will offer a college counseling workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 31 in the conference room of Old National Bank, 385 S. Main St.

The workshop will cover how and when to conduct the college search; college admission options; how colleges make admission decisions; how to structure a college list; application strategies; college visits; standardized testing; scholarships and financial aid, and the state of college admission today. Village Garden Club meeting and grants program announced

The Village Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3 in the Hussey Room of the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library, 250 N. Fifth St. The film “In Celebration of Trees” will be shown. Guests are welcome.
