SullivanMunce offers programs/activities

The SullivanMunce Cultural Center, 225 W. Hawthorne St., offers several upcoming events. Call the center at 873-4900 or visit www.sullivanmunce.org for more information.

• Spring Break Art Camp — Register now for Spring Break Art Camps for Kids, Monday, March 30 to Friday, April 3. Campers will participate in a week-long, multi-media experience creating animal drawings, paintings, sculpture, jewelry and more. Youngsters also will study animal art created from the Oaxacan animals of Mexico to Netsuke miniature animal sculptures from Japan.

Full day camp, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is offered for children 7 to 11; children from 4 to 6 can experience half-day camp from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Contact SullivanMunce for fees and more information.

• “Step into my Parlor,” pre-school program — At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 11 and Friday, March 13, children ages 4 and 5 are invited to pretend they are a “lady” or “gentleman” living in the days before television and computer. The event is free and registration required.

Register for Maplelawn camp

Applications for summer camp at Maplelawn Farmstead are being accepted now. The historic farmstead depicts life on a farm during the days of the Great Depression of the 1930s, and is located just west of Mulberry Fields on Whitestown Road.

The day camp, specifically designed for children entering grades 4-6, will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the weeks of July 6 to 10 and Aug. 3 to 7.

Drop your Crocs at

Eagle Elementary

Are your Crocs shoes too small or worn out? Recycle them at Eagle Elementary School, 350 N. Sixth St. now through Friday, April 10. Drop them into the PTO “Croc” box in the school lobby during school hours. The shoes will be sent to SolesUnited, an organization which will sort, clean, and grind them into material for new shoes. Once manufactured, the new shoes will be sent to people in need all over the world.
