Spring exhibit now open at Kellar Mahaney

Gallery

A seasonal exhibit with a nature theme called “Spring Inside and Out” is open now through May 2 at the Kellar Mahaney Gallery of Contemporary Fine Art, 270 S. Main St.

“Our artists are offering colorful, contemporary landscapes, gardens and floral compositions in a variety of media that reflect the energy and inspiration of spring,” says Lolly Schoonover, gallery owner. The show include a selection of original paintings, pastels and fine art prints by gallery artists Kellar Mahaney, Tom Casalini, Anne Tirey, Maureen Pesta, Margy Hanson, Chuck Kellar and Steve Rubinkam.

Drop your Crocs at

Eagle Elementary

Are your Crocs footwear too small or worn out? Recycle them at Eagle Elementary School, 350 N. Sixth St. now through Friday, April 10. Drop them into the PTO “Croc” box in the school lobby during school hours. The shoes will be sent to SolesUnited, an organization which will sort, clean, and grind them into material for new shoes. Once manufactured, the new shoes will be sent to people in need all over the world. Check out solesunited.com or call Katie Barnes, Eagle Elementary PTO, at 733-9983.



Hussey-Mayfield

Memorial Library events

The Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library, 250 N. Fifth St., has several upcoming events. Registration is required for each children’s class and some adult programs. Call 873-3149 to register.

• AARP Tax Aide — 1 to 4 p.m. Thursdays now through April 9, Lora Hussey and Olive Hoffman rooms. Taxpayers age 60 and older, as well as low-and middle-income earners, may visit the library for free income tax help on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations accepted. A list of required documents is available at the teen and adult reference desk or by calling 873-8341.

• Library closes early — The library will close at 5 p.m. March 19 to allow staff to attend the annual recognition dinner.
