• Fine Art as Inspiration for Garden Design —2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, Lora Hussey Room. All ages. Author and garden designer Gordon Hayward presents a slide-illustrated program exploring the visual language shared by artists and garden designers as he juxtaposes paintings and garden images. A book signing will follow the program.

• Remembering Lincoln with Hoosier Author William Bartelt — 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29. Just in time for the bicentennial celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s birth, Indiana author William Bartelt will introduce his recently published book There I Grew Up: Remembering Abraham Lincoln’s Indiana Youth. The Newburgh resident and Indiana Historical Society trustee will address the historical significance of fabrications, exaggerations and misinterpretations about Lincoln.



Tennis leagues forming now

The Team Witsken ladies 2.5 tennis league is forming for the spring season. Matches will be played at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, May 11 through July 20, at Zionsville Middle School, University High School and The Legends at Geist.

The $55 fee includes balls, court fees, and tournament prizes. Checks are due to Team Witsken, 1933 S. County Road 825 East, Zionsville, IN 46077 by Tuesday, April 14.

The Team Witsken Men’s Advanced summer league is a new league for men at the 4.0 to 5.5 playing level. A draft will take place on Sunday, April 26, for doubles teams. Matches will be played on Sundays at 2 p.m., May 31 through July 25, at various sites including Zionsville Middle School, University High School, Bridgewater Club, Riviera Club, Meridian Hills Country Club and Stonewick. The cost is $65, which includes prizes. Send checks to Team Witsken, at the above address, by April 1.
