Community Calendar for April 15

Barbecue fundraiser set for April 19

The annual Boone County 4-H Chicken and Pork Chop Barbecue will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Tickets may be purchased from any 4-H member or the Boone County Extension Office for $7 in advance or $7.50 at the door.

The annual event is held in conjunction with the Boone County Chamber of Commerce Home and Garden Show. All proceeds from the dinner are earmarked for major renovations and improvements of the 4-H Fairgrounds.



Mulch sale at middle schools

The annual mulch sale sponsored by Zionsville Middle School and Zionsville West Middle School is under way, with proceeds benefiting the athletic departments at both schools. Details and order forms are at http://www.scs.k12.us/zms/Athletics. Call 873-2426, Ext. 3 with questions about the sale. Deliveries are expected to begin the week of April 20.



Senior services offers trips and classes

• Bridge and Euchre — 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday in the Community Room.

• Van trips — 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, Castleton Square Mall; 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 16, Joe’s Crab Shack, Indianapolis; 9 a.m. Monday, April 20, Tippecanoe Mall, Lafayette; 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, Meijer Store and lunch in Lafayette; 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 24, Old Country Buffet, Carmel.

• Keep Fit with Wii — 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16, with instructor Laura Michels.

• Watercolor and Acrylic Art Classes — 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, with local artist John Hanks. Cost is $25 for four-week session; attendees bring their own supplies. List of supplies provided at registration.

• Line Dancing — 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for beginners; 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for intermediate dancers, Friday, April 17. Classes taught by licensed instructor Teresa Russell, using both country and upbeat traditional music. Cost is $6 per lesson; registration required.
