Lanny C. Parsley
Lanny C. Parsley, 62, Zionsville, lost his fight to cancer on Nov. 8, 2008.
Born in Indianapolis, he was the son of Leroy and Margurita Parsley; they preceded him in death.
He married his wife, Susan, on Jan. 28, 1967; she survives.
He was a graduate of George Washington High School in Indianapolis and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He attended Sheet Metal Workers trade school, which led to his long-standing career in the sheet metal construction industry. After retiring in 2005, he followed another course and became a well-loved school bus driver for Zionsville Community Schools.
Lanny was an avid golfer, loved boating, motorcycling and strumming his guitar. He was active at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church for 34 years and was a member of the Jaycees.
Other survivors include his four beautiful children Brian, Chip (wife April), Tonya (husband Adam), and Nick (wife Christina); eight grandchildren: Ethan, Asa, Lexi, Logan, Lane, Grant, Lani and Tessa; brother, Jerry Parsley; and sister, Fonda Veale.
Calling will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, and the funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, both at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak St., Zionsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Center, 8902 Vincennes Circle, Suite A, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
