Sexson performs at Poetry on Brick Street

Mary Sexson will read her poems at Poetry on Brick Street, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at G. Simone’s Cafe, 120 S. Main St. An “open mike” session will follow. Sexson lives and teaches in Indianapolis. Her first collection of poems, “103 in the Light: Selected Poems 1996-2000,” was chosen as an Honorable Mention finalist in poetry for Best Books in Indiana 2005 by the Indiana Center for the Book. Free.

Women’s Club

to meet

The Women’s Club of Zionsville will meet for a Christmas tea at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the home of Mrs. James Voyles, 10895 Zionsville Road. The program, “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas Treasury,” will be presented by Mrs. Edward Runyan.

Zion Nature Center

• Nature Ornaments — Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 6, 7, 13 and 14. All ages. Get into the holiday spirit and create decorations for your tree using all natural materials. Craft fees vary.

• Cardinals — 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13 and 14. All ages. Learn interesting facts about these beautiful birds and make cardinal ornaments, gifts and crafts. Program is free; craft fees vary.

The center also will be open during Christmas in the Village, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.

• Artisans’ Holiday Boutique — Opens Saturday, Dec. 6. The Art Center’s galleries have been transformed into an indoor art marketplace, featuring the work of Indiana artists. Free gift wrapping with purchase and a 10 percent discount are offered to SullivanMunce members.
