Community calendar for Dec. 3


Purchase cookie dough for holiday


Market Day is offering a variety of cookie doughs, including oatmeal raisin, sugar-free chocolate chip and chocolate mint chip, for holiday baking. Pick up flyers at all Zionsville schools and the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library. Order forms are due by Tuesday, Dec. 9, and online orders must be placed by noon Wednesday, Dec. 10 (www.marketday.com, account No. 5941).

‘Tip Off’ with Brad Stevens

Brad Stevens, Butler University men’s basketball coach and 1995 graduate of Zionsville Community High School, will offer tips for parents and coaches from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Traders Point Christian Church, 6590 S. Indianapolis Road, Whitestown.

The free event will include coaching to develop quality players and quality people; helping parents, coaches and programs work from the same game plan; supporting the athlete on and off the court; skill development from youth to college, and taking coaching philosophy from the clipboard to the hardwood. Following will be a Q & A session and update on the Bulldog basketball season.

Gifts sought for

hospitalized children

Akard True Value is seeking unwrapped gifts for children who will be at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent during Christmas. Desired items include children’s magazines, toddler toys with lights and sounds, superhero toys, character pillowcases, princess items, boxed puzzles, child-friendly DVDs, board games, video games, activity books, craft projects, card games and talking books. Please bring unwrapped items between now and Christmas Eve to Akard’s located in the Boone Village shopping center, corner of Ford Road and State Road 334.
