Deadlines set for pageant

The deadline for submissions into the Miss Fall Festival Outstanding Teen Pageant is Sunday, Sept. 1. The scholarship pageant is open to girls ages 13 through 17 who reside in Boone County. Entrants cannot be a senior in high school. The winner is awarded scholarship money and competes in the state competition. The pageant will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8, during the Lions Club Fall Festival. Bible study set

Community Bible Study is hosting a Visitor's Day on Thursdays, Sept. 5 and 12, for the study of the book of John. The study will be from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at Traders Point Christian Church, 6590 S. Indianapolis Road, Whitestown. The class consists of approximately 110 women from 20 different churches. Moms invited to attend event

Mothers of children from infant to high-school age are welcome to attend an event at Zionsville Fellowship Church, 9090 Oak St. Mom's Day In will take place from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Fridays, Sept. 6 and 20. Mom's Day In offers encouragement for mothers within the community to have Christ as the treasure of the home. The event will feature Gospel-centered discussions and food. Boy Scouts schedule celebration

Boy Scout Troop No. 358 has planned a celebration for the organization's 90th anniversary this fall. The celebration is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak St. Tickets are $75 per person and will include a sit-down dinner and presentation. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund a college scholarship for Troop 358 Eagle Scouts. The scouts are asking for the community to search for any memorabilia and photos that could be used in the celebration. Any donations should be left at the church office. The deadline for Community Calendar announcements is 5 p.m. Fridays for the following week’s publication. Boone County-related announcements are welcome.
