Community calendar for Feb. 20


Blood drive is March 11

The Indiana Blood Center will sponsor a blood drive from 3:30 to 8 p.m. March 11 at Countryside Christian Fellowship, 600 W. County Road 500 N., Lebanon.

It is the only IBC blood drive scheduled for March in Boone County. For the latest information, or to schedule an appointment, visit www.donorpoint.org or call 800-632-4722 and choose option four.

Study group

welcomes visitors

Community Bible Study is hosting  a Visitor’s Day on March 14 for the study of Ephesians, The Wisdom of Solomon, and James. The study group is an interdenominational, international ministry whose purpose is to make disciples in the community through a caring, in-depth Bible study available to all.

The local class consists of approximately 110 women from 20 different churches that meet Thursdays during the school year from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., at Traders Point Christian Church.

Photo club to meet

J.D. Nolan will be the guest speaker at the Zionsville Photo Club meeting, 6:30 p.m. March 13, at Black Dog Books, 115 S. Main Street.

Nolan will present large format photography. He will demonstrate how his view camera works.  Nolan will also show black and white photos that he took in England last year.

Meet state legislators

Local state elected officials will be at a Legislative Breakfast and discuss legislative issues at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library. The event is coordinated by the Boone County Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Indiana Farm Bureau and Witham. Doughnuts and coffee provided.

The deadline for Community Calendar announcements is 5 p.m. Fridays for the following week’s publication. Boone County-related announcements are welcome.
