This year’s theme is “Unforgettable Music from the Great American Songbook.” The July 21 concert is titled “The Crooners Lounge” and will pay tribute to Bing Crosby, Perry Como and Dean Martin among others. The concert will be performed by Tim Wright.

Events planned for Nature Center

• Bee-ology — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 17. Learn facts about honeybees and taste honey while taking a look at an observational beehive sponsored by local bee keepers RJ Honey.

• Fairy Houses — 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, ages 5 through 10. Meet at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library to read about fairy houses and walk to the nature center to build a fairy house.

• Indiana Jim’s Reptile Experience — 1 p.m. Thursday, July 18. Indiana Jim and his live reptiles will be at Town Hall, 1100 W. Oak St.

Fitness studio hosts competition

Heckers’ Fitness, 7635 Stonegate Dr., is sponsoring a “Heckathlon,” which will benefit local public safety agencies.

The dates of participation are August 23, 24 and 25. The competition is designed to be a team competition with 10 events.

All proceeds will be donated to a participating public safety department. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the Zionsville Police Department, and the winning team will decide where the remaining proceeds should be donated.

All participants will receive a T-shirt, 20 percent off accessories and 10 percent off bikes at Matthews Bike Shop and free exercise instruction. Instructions will be held Saturdays, July 20, Aug. 3 and 17.

New swimmer evaluations set

Zionsville Swim Club will be holding evaluations for the upcoming Short Course Season, which runs from September through March.
