Ladies golf opportunity

 

The Penny Putters will begin its 42nd season with a kick-off luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 30. The pitch-in will be at the Lions Club clubhouse, 115 S. Elm Street, Zionsville.

 

Play will begin Wednesday, May 7, at Zionsville Golf Course, and the season will end Sept. 24.

Aquatic Center offers free adult lessons

 

Zionsville Aquatic Masters will be offering free adult swim lessons at the Zionsville Aquatic Center, 1000 Mulberry St.

 

Lessons will be from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Wednesdays, April 30 and May 7; 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays, May 4 and 11; and 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Monday, May 5.

 

Class size is limited, and registration is first-come, first-served.

Blood drive scheduled

 

Indiana Blood Center will sponsor one more blood drive in April in Boone County.

 

The blood drive will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Witham Memorial Hospital, 2605 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon.

Spots available for ZFD outing

 

Tickets are on sale for the Zionsville Fire Department Golf Outing on Friday, May 9, at the Golf Club of Indiana.

 

Entry is $65 for nine holes and $130 for 18 holes. Proceeds benefit projects such as the ZVFD Larry K. Rust Memorial Scholarship Fund and ZVFD Bereavement Fund.

Register for Chamber events

 

The Chamber's Downtown Committee will be holding a Main Street clean-up day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 4.

 

The downtown Zionsville area will be cleaned up, streets swept, trash removed and flower beds prepared. Volunteers will meet at the parking lot on the intersection of Main and Hawthorne streets at 10 a.m.
