NatureFest returns March 2

Join friends and support the Zion Nature Center at the third annual Friends of Zion Nature Center NatureFest. From face painting and a “gourmet” cake walk to classic carnival games and educational activities, NatureFest will have something for all ages. A petting zoo was added this year.

The event will take place on from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Zionsville Town Hall, located at 1100 W. Oak St., Zionsville. Admission is $3 per person, or $10 per family. Children two and younger are free. Tickets for activities and games are 50 cents each or 12 for $5.

Garden Club meets at library

The Village Garden Club of Zionsville will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library, 250 N. Fifth St.

The program, “A New Way for You to look at Daffodils,” will be presented by Mary Milberger.

The presentation will cover the different divisions, color coding and the science of growing daffodils.

Guests are welcome. The group also has grants available for gardening.

Homemakers Club

to meet

The Zionsville Extension Homemakers Club “Village Homemakers” will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the home of Georgi Schroeder.

The program will be “Tying a Quilt - Three Techniques.”

Help the Zionsville Food Bank

The Zionsville Food Bank, 4775 W. 116th St., and Mothers of Preschoolers will sponsor a family night out event from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 9.

The Hunter Smith Band will play a concert during the event.

Proceeds from the event will provide food to the food bank and allow other mothers the opportunity to participate in MOPS. Childcare will be available.

Lebanon hosts roundtable

The Lebanon Public Library will host the War Years Roundtable at 6:30 p.m. Monday March 11, in the top floor meeting room on Dan Gamble, Sergeant, U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Infantry Division  will present 1969 -1970 Vietnam Battlefield Report. Gamble is the recipient of the Bronze Star, an Air Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
