Hancock - Palumbo marriage

Cynthia Ruth Hancock and Joseph John Palumbo, both of Chicago, were married April 18, 2009, at St. James Chapel in Chicago. The Rev. John P. Boivin, associate pastor of Holy Name Cathedral, officiated.

The maid of honor was Jessica Hancock, sister of the bride. Best man was Benjamin Palumbo, brother of the groom.

A reception followed in the Atwood Café at Hotel Burnham, Chicago.

The bride is the daughter of Joan Hancock of Whitestown and Daniel Hancock of Indianapolis.

The bridegroom is the son of Jacqueline and John Palumbo of Hudson, Ohio.

The bride is a National Merit Scholar and a 1997 graduate and of Zionsville Community High School. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in 2001 from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. She is the director of donor relations at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Since 2006, the bride has been a volunteer decent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation, leading tours of the Chicago River by boat as well as walking tours of downtown Chicago. The bride is keeping her maiden name.

The groom is a 1996 graduate of Christian Brothers High School, Memphis, Tenn. He earned a bachelor of science accounting and computer information systems in 2000 from Indiana University in Bloomington. He earned a masters in business administration in finance and managment and strategy in 2008 from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. In 2004, he became a certified public accountant. He is the senior analyst at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

    The bride is the daughter of Scott and Elsa Eckart of Zionsville. She is a 2008 graduate of Zionsville Community High School and a 2012 graduate of Purdue University. She is a registered nurse.

    The bride is the daughter of Robert and Laurel Galli of Cupertino, Calif. The bride’s attendants were Dempsey Bird, Brooklyn Maas and Melissa Jacques.

    Sara is the daughter of Jack and Anita Brummett of Zionsville and granddaughter of Avnis Woodward of McHenry, Ill. She is a 2000 graduate of Zionsville Community High School, a 2004 graduate of Xavier University and 2009 graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. She is completing her Pediatric Residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. and will then work as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Toledo Children’s Hospital.

    Bethony is the daughter of Kip and Betsy Vernaglia of Anaheim Hills, Calif. She is a 2005 graduate of Orange Lutheran High School and a 2009 graduate of Purdue University. She earned a degree in management and was in Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority. She is a senior marketing executive at LabCorp.
