Stephanie Anne Kessel of Indianapolis and Ryan Christopher Sommer of Clarksville, Tenn. were married on July 4, 2009 at Zionsville Presbyterian Church. The Reverend Pat Smith officiated.
The maids of honor were Nikki Kessel and Sandy Kessel, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Alaine Sommer, sister of the groom; Anna Sonner Knaup; Hillary Gangstad and Maria Davis Heider.
The best men were Zach Morris and Abe Saldana, friends of the groom. Groomsmen were Phil Sommer, brother of the groom; Pete Gerboth; Dan Galgano and Dave Horton.
A reception at the Montage at Allison Pointe in Indianapolis followed.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Lane Kessel of Zionsville. She is a 2003 graduate of Zionsville Community High School and a 2007 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Civil Engineering. She works for Beam, Longest, and Neff, L.L.C. of Indianapolis.
The groom is the son of Scott and Jan Sommer, formerly of Zionsville, now of New Castle. He is also a 2003 Graduate of Zionsville Community High School and is a 2007 graduate of West Point. He is a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and a Blackhawk helicopter pilot with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky.
The couple honeymooned in the Bahamas and now resides in Clarksville, Tenn.
