Safety on the Internet is the topic for the Oct. 2 Boone County Extension Homemakers First Tuesday session.

The Internet can be a helpful tool for information and to stay in touch with friends and family. But what do you do when your computer locks up, or your information is held for ransom? What signs should you look for in choosing safe websites? Rick Hammerle will discuss these issues so you can stay save when using the internet.

Register by Sept. 28.

Upcoming events include the annual holiday workshop, at 7 p.m. Nov. 8. Enjoy an evening filled with helpful hints, food tasting, decorating ideas and more for the holidays. Each participant will take home a booklet with ideas and recipes. There is a small fee and registration is required.

Both events will be held in the Farm Bureau Community Building at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds. Please pre-register by calling the Boone County Extension Office, 765-482-0750.
