Badger elected to PLEADS section
Steven Badger, Zionsville resident and partner at Bose McKinney & Evans LLP, has been elected “chair elect” of the Professional Legal Education, Admission and Development Section of the Indiana State Bar Association.
Badger will assume leadership as chairman of the section in fall 2012. As chair he will oversee such programs as the monitoring of rules for admission to the bar and for lawyer conduct, and promoting the educational and professional development of Indiana law students, lawyers and judges. One of the PLEADS Section’s major initiatives is the Mentor Match program which pairs experienced attorneys with newer lawyers.
Beginning workshop for photography
A digital photographer workshop for beginners will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at A Space to Create, 65 E. Cedar St.

“Giving Mittens” at local businesses
The Zionsville Chamber of Commerce and the Zionsville Merchants’ Association will have 10 mitten pairs available to help local residents select items to donate to charities.
One mitten of a pair will have the name of a nonprofit organization and a need from their wish list. The other mitten is for the donor’s information, as a pledge card. The merchant keeps the mitten with the contact information, while the individual takes the one listing the organization and its request. The promised item(s) need to be delivered, before Sunday, Dec. 18, to the merchant where the pledge was given, so the mittens can be matched up again. Donated gifts will be distributed to the charities on Sunday, Dec. 18.
Participating businesses include State Bank of Lizton, Akard Tue Value Hardware, My Sugar Pie, Corner Vise/Thomas Kinkade Gallery, Robert Goodman Jewelers, Butler’s Pantry, Noah Grants Raw House and Grill, Salem Art Gallery, The Sanctuary and Lesley Jane.
Participating charities include Boone County ‘Helping Hands’ Domestic Violence Shelter, Boone County Humane Society, Boone County Toy Drive, Lions Club and Friends of the Library.
